Radar

Radar is an object-detection system that uses pulses of high-frequency electromagnetic waves (typically radio waves). Radar is an ubiquitous technology used by ground facilities, vehicles and mobile frames for a variety of civilian and military purposes.

Description[]

Radar is a common and simple variety of sensor system that can be built by anyone with basic know-how, giving pilots a way to see other frames in the dark and even through walls.

Technology[]

Radar uses a dish or antenna to transmit pulses of radio waves or microwaves that bounce off any object in their path. The objects return a tiny part of the waves' energy to a receiving dish or antenna that is usually located at the same site as the transmitter. These reflections are then processed to determine the range, altitude, direction, or speed of any detected objects.
