Doomsday Clock

Battles in Mobile Frame Zero: Rapid Attack and Intercept Orbit end after a variable number of rounds; this end of the game is referred to as Doomsday.

The Doomsday CountdownEdit

The number of rounds until doomsday is tracked with the doomsday clock, typically a distinct d12 or d20 die but other devices can be used.

At the beginning of the game the doomsday clock is placed somewhere safe, where everyone can see it, and set to 11. At the end of every round, the doomsday clock counts down by 1; then each player in tactical order, from highest current score to lowest, has the option to count it down by 1 or to pass. When the doomsday clocks reaches 0, doomsday, the battle ends, and the player with the highest score wins. Ties are possible, but unlikely.

StrategyEdit

If you’re winning (or think you’ll be winning soon) you can speed the battle toward its end by counting the doomsday clock.; it’s not to your advantage to do so if you’re losing though.
